Whilst at school, Braam attended a Wilderness Leadership course in the Umfolozi game reserve in Zululand. This experience changed his life. From the ‘bush lessons’ learned, Braam decided to make a difference. At the age of just 17, he ran 532kms in 11 days to raise awareness for the plight of the Langebaan lagoon on the west coast of South Africa. As a result of his passion and efforts, he saved the lagoons eco systems from potential destruction.
“I learned that ordinary people can do extraordinary things if they can dream big and passionately and systematically move towards their dream. I learned that one individual can change the world,” says Braam.
Braam takes children and youth into the bush and guides them towards reaching their highest potential. He uses natures basic law as a tool: ‘every species on our planet gives to one or more other species, thereby ensuring their own survival’ – every species, that is, except humans! Humans have tried to manipulate nature to suit their needs – and it has gone horribly wrong.
In nature, as with us, it is survival of the fittest. And the fittest embrace change in order to evolve. In nature, you are an asset or a liability – there is no middle road. If you are an asset, you survive. If you are a liability, you are taken out of the system – you perish.
Braam takes his young clients on a life-changing experience. Each individual is shown their unique gifts and talents. More importantly, how to use them to maximum benefit – for themselves and their home. He shows us just how magnificent we really are, and sets us on a road of achievement and fulfillment.
